New Song - Rodney Montreuil - Cap Haitien

Rodney Montreuil - November 19 2009, 7:22 AM

Listen the new Single music release, Cap Haitien, my Rodney Montreuil.

Dear fans and friends:

It's been just over a week since I posted my song Cap-Haitien here on this site, and I can barely handle the wave of emotions I experience while reading these warm and overwhelmingly supportive comments of yours.

Whether it was a note on Facebook, a text message, or a phone call, it was appreciated and, more importantly I heard and processed all your suggestions and constructive criticisms.

Keep in mind that we are together on a journey to greatness through the simple acts we humbly perform every day. We crossed the river, now it's time to climb the mountain.

This song has the potential to transcend its obvious purpose of entertaining to become a socio-economic revolution in the hearts of those who love "OKAP" and "Haiti" so dearly.

This song WILL be a catalytic element for the war on "Fatra," carelessness, selfishness, ignorance, and divisiveness.

This is a war on negativism that will yield to the Renaissance of our beautiful Cap Haitien.

OK, Rod, when are you going to tell us what's next?

First, the single/CD will be available soon (Follow the announcements!!).

From the profit from the sales, I will set aside $2,000 or more for the group or individual that can come up with the best idea/plan for a Waste management/collection system for Cape Haitien that will satisfy the following criteria: Cost-effectiveness, continuity, aesthetic (nice-looking cans/poubelles), design for possible computerization, and connection with a recycling program.

A formal flyer will come out soon to elaborate on the contest.

Secondly, the song is about Cape Haitien, but not intended to Capois exclusively.

Anyone from anywhere in Haiti could follow in my footsteps and do the same thing for his/her respective city. It's all about Haiti as a whole, so we need to preserve our culture of unity and reject separatism.

Buy the CD whether or not you're from Okap.

Thirdly, our target is to sell at least 40,000 CDs by February 2010. YES! We can do it!! In a spirit of unity, let's stop the declining process of our beloved Okap through our contribution through viable projects such as waste collection, the construction of a modern marketplace, and more importantly dynamic educational initiatives to rescue our younger generation.

Also, let's assume that none of these can be implemented without cooperating with the Municipal Administration in place.

We owe them that respect as elected officials.

So "Moun Okap yo," if you really mean business, let's link the talk with consistent action.

Buy the CD to make a difference.

Buy 10, 20, 30...what better gift to give to your friends and family for the Holiday seasons?

Start spreading the news that Le Cap will be back on its feet because its sons and daughters are claiming it back.! Forward this to all your Facebook friends, and continue enjoying the beat!!

Last, I'm putting another challenge before you. "Moun okap" are going to prove to the world that THEY DO NOT BUY BOOTLEG CDs (copy).

..This will end this year. Let's show some respect and regard for our striving artists who work so hard to entertain us. NO MORE COPIES!!!! The points of sale for the CD will be announced soon, and the song is already getting play time on radio stations.

Once again I thank you for your support and look forward to a long and productive career servicing you!! Let's not look back, our objective is ahead of us and at our reach.

Don't miss the train of history.

Go buy the CD
