Miss Haiti Universe pageants

Lamadame - April 19 2011, 6:03 PM

I find it interesting how the past Ms. Haiti have been mostly priviledged young women from a certain class.

They speak creole, english and french (sometimes spanish) so clearly, they're Haitian.

They can afford the best dresses, the best hairstyles, have travelled outside, and more. Of course they're beautiful, intelligent and deserving young women but where are the others that do not necessarily share the same characteristics/backgrounds?

Where are the one's who've ridden a tap-tap before?

Or the one's who know where Marche Tabarre is?

Or the one's who don't mind street food (chien jambe or fritay)?

The one's that know what the weather is like outside of an air-conditioned car?

How can we get a diverse competition?
